BACKS EQ

It’s based on the 50s classical circuits for adjusting the tonal balance of a track without introducing harsh or unnatural resonances. In addition to this sweet vintage tone, with a smooth additional mid-band and tube preamp, it is a very powerful tool not only for mastering but also for mixing and tracking.

BACKS PRO EQ

The excellent enhanced version of Backs EQ. It also introduces these sweet and soft tones with more additional features such as Mid/Side Processing, Nuance Deviation System (NDS), and another special tube preamp mode (Type B). Sweeten your mix and master bus with this advanced tool.

I struggled to find anything that this didn’t sound good on

The Backs EQ collection at first seems clean and transparent, and indeed it can be, but its magic lies in the wonderful preamp option, which not-so-subtly provides a very broad lift to the lower 3/4s of the audio spectrum, while providing a dense and rich harmonic character. I struggled to find anything that this didn’t sound good on. It was uniquely flattering and challenged my existing bias about Bax-style eqs being most beneficial to the high end.

I’m not surprised by Noiseash

I have never been a huge fan of Baxandall eq’s simply because for simple curves (and kinda to polite results should is say ) I tend to gravitate around the Pultec style eq , but what I love about this one is that it has clean curves and results with a mojo / precision that surprised me . Started to try it on a lot of material , to find out that it’s a real workhorse when you want a fast Pultec style workflow with capabilities that are excellent . A shaping device : 3 bands and filters (Lo and Hi cuts) + width (and preamp)… superb for those fast instinctive moves during production or early mixing stage when you make crucial balances and color decisions!
Should i say i’m not surprised by Noiseash , quality expected : quality delivered!

Two versions in one bundle that you can use according to your needs. Backs EQ lets you work with less CPU usage, while Backs Pro EQ takes your mix to another level with additional modern features not even available on the original unit.

NUANCE DEVIATION SYSTEM

Nuance Deviation System (NDS) brings the individual tones that are slightly different from each other by the theoretical component deviations to give more depth, dimension, and variances as the real analog gear does.

MID / SIDE PROCESS

Expanded with modern Mid / Side processing which allows you to process mid and side channels individually. That means much more fun and better-sounding mixes than ever before.

ADDITIONAL PREAMPS

In both two versions, here is a vintage tube saturator (Type A) that provides an authentic, warm, fat tube sound. In the Pro version, there is another special tube saturation model (Type B) that increases the presence and loudness with some cool harmonics without killing the dynamics too much.

ADDITIONAL MID-BAND

Taming and Shaping the sound is much easier with the additional useful smooth-sounding Mid-Band.

The additional mid-band, additional vintage preamp mode, Mid-Side mode, and Nuance Deviation System (NDS) make this unit’s sound-shaping capabilities way more enhanced and a unique gem! Backs EQ Collection is ideal for a wide range of applications, from subtle tonal adjustments to more dramatic sound shaping. Add a mud-free fat low end and harshness-free brightness to your mixes with Backs EQ Collection. The extended features also make Backs EQ not only a “finishing” mix buss equalizer but also a powerful multi-purpose mixing tool.

Nuance Deviation System

Analog domain components have some little tonal nuance differences which create some deviations concerning their theoretical values. Nuance Deviation System (NDS) is the NoiseAsh Audio proprietary signal processing model, which emulates the sonic character deviations of the analog components. Individual “Left/Mid” and “Right/Side” channels can be alternated with NDS. There are carefully modeled channels and each number stands for a channel deviation. With NDS, real tonal differences can be captured quickly!
