“The Motone EQ collection provides a nice-sounding clean equalizer with some unique filter shapes and very interesting band interaction. Because of this — along with its well-chosen frequency selections — it quickly found its way onto my guitar tracks, particularly higher-gain and fuzz tones, where its clean character proved useful in shaping harmonically-dense tracks without adding further unwanted density or distortion.”
“The Backs EQ collection at first seems clean and transparent, and indeed it can be, but its magic lies in the wonderful preamp option, which not-so-subtly provides a very broad lift to the lower 3/4s of the audio spectrum, while providing a dense and rich harmonic character. I struggled to find anything that this didn’t sound good on. It was uniquely flattering and challenged my existing bias about Bax-style eqs being most beneficial to the high end.”
